Dry Disconnect Coupling – Safe coupling without medium loss
Dry Disconnect Couplings – also known asDry Disconnect Couplings– are special safety couplings that automatically seal both thehose and pipe side when disconnecting.This prevents uncontrolled leakage of the medium – a crucial safety advantage wherever contact with sensitive, hazardous or environmentally relevant media must be avoided.
They are primarily used in applications where the use of conventional quick couplingsis not permitted– such as in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food or energy industries.
Function principle and safety
Dry disconnect couplings consist of acoupling part (male part)and afemale part, which must be precisely matched – ideally both components come from the same manufacturer to ensure functional safety and tightness.
The coupling system is based on a proven concept that was originally developed for theUS military sectorand is now found, for example, in theSTARNAK standard.The connection is made by a

- When disconnecting, the coupling nut is turned back –the valves close automatically, before the connection is completely released.
